Boo to Hello!, Hurrah for Flickr

I am getting more than a tad tired of Hello. It just refuses to work for me. I haven't a bloody clue why it won't upload my photos but it just...uh...won't. I have tried it from different computers, I have followed the help file, I have been patient, I have torn my hair out. So I am trying Flickr. It has monthly limits on bandwidth use (so I may need to still use Hello or something else when my limit has been hit) but it seems much more friendly, is easy to upload, and doesn't require a separate program to use. Check it out. It may save some frustration for you bloggers. I have uploaded pictures to my last two posts so have a look if you want.
So, hello to Flickr. Please don't make me hate you.

Hello is eatin' my lunch as well... might I also add that their support team leaves A LOT to be desired.
You would think a computer savvy guy living and working from a bedroom in his Toronto flat would get around to making a program that was far superior to Hello and make a few mil off of it?!?! No?

I agree, it could be a lucrative business - do you have soMe Awesome, Rawkin' Kid in mind who might be techno-nerdy enough to accomplish such a feat? I think who ever it is should stop spending his time reading slashdot and blogging at make me a program that works.

Well, maybe this random dude can get hello to work just fine on his computer so doesn't need to spend time figuring out how to programatically upload images to blogger, especially when he has video games to play...and other things to do...

I just don't understand why it refuses to post my images. It says its posting but it never comes through. Sure, my internet connection(s) are crap, but it shouldn't take an hour to upload a 20kB image, should it?

I hear that some computer-types go into the training business...anyone want to teach me how to operate this program I thought I knew how to use but apparently can't? Anyone?

Yeah it's weird, Jay (aka Big Stick) has problems using Hello as well. When he uses it the blogger webpage comes up, rather then the internal Hello program. It's strange. The weird part for me is that I have only ever had some little problems, but it's always mostly worked.

It shouldn't take that long to upload a small image...with a dial-up connection it should probable take around 4-10 minutes to upload something that is 1 MB.

Yeah I did tech support for the company that I work for now for about a year, trust me it's not much fun...

Perhaps it is just tempermental. I will keep trying to get it to work. Until then, though, I am looking for alternatives.

Speaking of alternatives - have you heard of a powerpoint-like program called S5? Someone referenced it in an anti-PP rant I posted on the Librarian Avengers blog and I am curious. It is open source (hurray!) and seems quite flexible but looks a smidge more technical than I am equipped to deal with at this moment. So along with Hello 101, do you want to teach me html or xhtml or i don't even know what? Nuns pay well...

Hey-Ho,

Pay? Well that changes everything...my services are available at a very affordable rate...

Hey Rodney, check out the Big Stick's blog, he solved his problems regarding Hello, perhaps it will work for you?
